The Chicago Council on Global Affairs (CCGA) — 2018-2019
----------
Overview
Girls Leading: From Rural Economies to Global Solutions is a global report by The Chicago Council on Global Affairs featuring research and personal perspectives from 20 authors worldwide. The project was delivered as a fully online digital experience alongside a downloadable PDF, making complex, long-form content accessible to a broad, global audience.
The Challenge
The report combined research, personal narratives, and age-based policy recommendations, requiring a digital experience that supported deep reading, clear navigation, and structured content across multiple sections and formats.
My Role
I designed the website and implemented the design using the organization’s web platform, translating editorial and research content into a functional, user-friendly digital experience. This included structuring page templates, defining layout systems, and ensuring consistency across the digital and PDF versions.
Approach
• Designed and built an editorial-driven website optimized for long-form reading
• Structured complex content into clear, scannable sections
• Organized recommendations by age group to support intuitive navigation
• Implemented the design within the platform’s technical constraints
• Ensured visual and structural consistency across digital and PDF formats
Outcome
The final digital experience provided a clear, accessible platform for sharing global research and storytelling, supporting The Chicago Council’s outreach and advocacy efforts through a well-structured, thoughtfully executed website.
