Project Overview:
The State of Global Food Banking 2020 (originally created in 2019 and revised in 2020 with updated stats and additional countries) profiles food banks in 44 countries throughout the word on a global and local scale, demonstrating the food banking model as a grassroots, community-led hunger intervention. Each country has it's own page which consists of a food bank profile, a list of stats (kilograms distributed, number of volunteers, people served, estimated number of children served, number of beneficiary organizations and number of food banks currently active) as well as population characteristics, development indicators, and economic indicators.
Scope:
This website was built to exist as a sub-domain on The Global Foodbanking Network's main website. It was to be separated out by country, each country page including a logo and name of existing food banks, and a set of external data and food bank data. In addition to the 44 country pages, there were also two partner pages for Feeding America and The European Food Banks Federation (FEBA), as well as. Methodology page, a Roadmap to 2030 page, an Advancing the SDGs page, and a Foodbanking Today page.
My role:
I developed this website using Blocs Web Builder. I first created the mockups, guided by GFN's bright and fun color palette and iconography. I used GFN's icons to illustrate the main stats of each country's food bank, creating additional icons in a similar style if needed. Dropdown menus detailed each country's population characteristics, development indicators, and economic indicators. I was involved in all aspects of the website's development. This included making all edits to the site after it was in place, creating any additional visuals needed, and choosing photos and optimizing them for the web.
Process:
Each of the 44 country pages had unique stats, food banks and logos, and external country data.

Process:
Population characteristics, development indicators, and economic indicators.
Process:
Pull quotes and photos were used to break up long stretches of copy.
